Water Taxi and Long Span Bus plying in Davao City soon!

Can you imagine yourselves riding a water taxi from Sta. Ana Wharf going to your favorite beach resort in Samal Island or to Mati,Davao Oriental!

Or riding a long span bus which is ran by electric power or compressed natural gas (CNG).

Well that is already happening in the next few months. Since a company has already invested and ordered a water taxi units and already applied for all the possible permits before the units will arrive before the last quarter of this year. A water taxi is bigger than a speed boat and has a speed of about 30 to 35 knots. It is closed and air-conditioned and can travel as far as Mati, Davao Oriental. It will be operational before the end of this year. So excited to ride into one already.

There are also investors in Davao City who are planning to buy long span buses to ply the route in the main thoroughfare of the city.If plans will pushed trough, jeepneys will be relocated to places which are underserved.

With the long span buses I think it will garner a lot of protests from the jeepney drivers and a strong will power of the local government before it will be implemented.

But it would be nice to have it in the city to ease the traffic congestion. The city's population is on the upswing from migration of people from neighboring towns, and provinces who are relocating in the city due to work and study.
