Ateneo de Davao University charges students P1,632 for IT and internet access, but limits Facebook usage!

Ateneo de Davao University imposes new school policy limiting the social networking site Facebook usage to students from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. because it was eating the school’s bandwidth.

But the university asked each students to a fee of P1,632 every semester for information technology, which includes Internet access.

School officials said it was eating the school’s bandwidth and the networking site has also become a cause of distraction for students.

Do you think that their limiting the access to the social network site and their reason is enough for making the new school policy?

The students are paying for IT that includes internet access and all of a sudden they want to limit the internet access to their students.

What are your thoughts on this? Does your school have similar policy as Ateneo de Davao University?
