In Balamban, there is a unique method of grilling Liempo. with local herbs, spices and some secret ingredients...
Many people go to Balamban just to eat this delectable dish!
NOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO, IT'S FINALLY IN Davao City!
Why wait in line for Lechon and get the Part you don't want...
Everyone simply wants to get the "LIEMPO" or the BELLY!
Now you can get "ALL BELLY, ALL THE TIME"
Balamban liempo is pork belly stuffed with lemon grass, the same aromatic that is stuffed into lechon (roast whole pig). Very tasty and great with just a dip with local Tuba Vinregar.
The Balamban Liempo restaurant had their soft opening a few weeks ago and they can be found at Delgar Commercial Complex, Km 5, J.P Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City. It’s the building right before the Bajada flyover.

The only shabu-shabu dining place in Gensan is at Meilih Restaurant!
I have tasted a lot of shabu-shabu in different restaurants around the country, but the best so far is at Meilih Restaurant at Phela Grande Hotel in General Santos City! And it is the only dining place in the city that offers shabu-shabu.
While I was in GenSan with the S3X Tour Tres ( Soccsksargen EXperience Tour) organizer Avel Manasala of GenSantos.com with the teamed up of Ganda Ever So Much, me and along with the bloggers who participated were lucky enough to taste one of GenSan's best shabu-shabu.
Not only that, the dishes that was served was exceptional. There were two types of shabu-shabu that was served, the regular and the hot one. I opted for the hot one, OMG it was delectable a must try if you pass by Gensan. And the best of all is their stuffed cookies with shrimp and quail eggs. Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Charles & Helen Angderson for our dinner.

Davao's best baby back ribs only at Purple Angel Cuzina!
Purple Angel Cuzina is a newly opened restaurant located at Patnubay St. Phase 2, Sandawa Road (just across 911) Matina Davao City.
I came to know the restaurant through a friend of mine, Naprey Almario who invited me to visit the place ans have a taste of one of Davao City's best kept secret and the best, the most tender and reasonably priced Baby Back Ribs you can get. I was really impressed and that's what I got when i get there. I got to try their Boneless Chicken Barbeque, Vegtable Salad with Shrimp for appetizer, Chicken and Mushroom Crepe and for dessert their Banana Choco Chip Cupcake.
The restaurant also does catering services for birthdays, debut, meetings, and other events at a very reasonable price. You can contact them at 299-1100 and (0922) 861-0373. for inquiries and reservation. They are open from Monday-Saturday.
The owner is Angelic Andama Garcia, a mother who want to have a business that is also near the school where her children are going. The location is just a few meters away from Ateneo de Davao Matina branch. She has a passion for cooking and also a loving mother to watch over her kids while they are at school and at the same time make money while waiting for the kids to finish their school day. Before opening the restaurant she was aready busy with her pastries being delivered to different coffe shops and stores in the city. So, she decided to put up the restaurant so that other mothers who are busy can also bring their kids during lunch break and spend some time with them during lunch break. Thus the place is have table for kids, activity area and some toys to keep them busy. The store is open at around 7:00 a.m. and closes at 7:00 p.m.! Since they now serves breakfast, thus they open very early.
The business is busy especially during school days and it is already becoming a place for the school kids and their parents. The restaurant is also Wi-Fi equipped.
You can also check out articles about the restaurant by Naprey Alamrio, James Malibiran and you can also like them on Facebook!

[caption id="attachment_1216" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption=" Kai Luk Koei, Laarb Gai, Yam Pak Boong and Kao Kluk Gapi."]
Bangkok Wok
Robinson's Cybergate, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City

When in Davao City and you want to have a taste of Thai, then the place to go to is Bangkok Wok. You can enjoy your meal with a classy ambiance at their restaurant. Not only that, you can really enjoy their food since most of the spices and some ingredients are imported direct from the source to get that authentic Thai taste and consistency in taste.
I was lucky enough to be invited for the food tasting experience of a lifetime together with some bloggers from Davao. We were graciously welcomed by Carmina and Raffy Del Rosario the owners of Bangkok Wok. Carmina who lived in Thailand for a while, explained to us that the dishes she has prepared for us are some of their best sellers and some that they will introduce to their menu in the coming days.
[caption id="attachment_1217" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption=" Ka Moo Pad Ped, Thai Oxtail Stew, Grilled Lamb Riblets, Ruamit and Kao Soy."]
Here are the food that we savored and it was really yummy. Have to go back for more and taste the rest of what's in the menu:
1. Yam Pak Boong - crispy kangkong salad in a sweet lime dressing with shrimps and crunchy shallots P225 (Good for 4-6 pax)
2. Kai Luk Koei - "son-in-law" eggs -- it's the Thai version of devilled eggs - deep fried hard-boiled eggs with tamarind sauce and fried chili P75
3. Laarb Gai - minced chicken salad with cilantro - P P195
4. Thai Oxtail Stew - slow-cooked oxtails served piping hot with cilantro, thai lime and thai vinegar P 300 (serves 4-6). This recipe was a best-seller at Chef Pam Panyasiri's in NYC and took months for us to develop until we achieved a perfect blend of herbs consisting of cinammon sticks, cumin, ground coriander.
5. Ka Moo Pad Ped - cripsy pork knuckles on top of red curry P595(serves 4-6)
6. Grilled Lamb Riblets - Australian lamb riblets grilled thai style with a spicy lime dipping sauce and somtam (green papaya salad) on the side P 480
7. Shrimp Fried Rice - Kao Pad Goong P 195 (good for 6)
8. Kao Kluk Gapi - our best selling rice- Bagoong Rice P 165 also good for up to 6 pax
9. Kao Soy - Chiang Mai noodle soup with crispy and soft egg and rice noodles topped with chicken, cilantro, pickled mustard P165
10. Dessert - Ruamit - Thai halo-halo P85
It is really a good place for Family or Barkada to go and eat, the food served is good for group of people to share and enjoy the hearty meal served.
