The Autism Society Philippines (ASP)–Davao Chapter will spearhead a seminar and teaching demo on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on Saturday, June 5 at MIC Cursillo House, Torres St. at 1-5 p.m..
The seminar aims to provide information about ASD, to discuss the nature and characteristics of each stage from childhood through adulthood with corresponding curriculum, and to present appropriate interventions.
ASP-Davao President Eric de la Costa said the seminar is the last part of the five-part seminar series which started last January 2010.
He said the part five tackles on “Adult Life: Sustainability and Independence” with sub topics such as Work Placement Options; Functional Communication Programs; Dealing with Behavior and Emotions in the Workplace, Home and Community; Social Skills and Community Involvement; Physical Fitness; Health and Hygiene, Independence and Safety; and Financial Preparation.
Seminar resource person is Special Education specialist Nino Ricky S. Tumadiang. Tumadiang is also a coordinator, teacher, consultant and program director on Special Education.
