Davao City transport strike will push through on Monday!

Militant and moderate transport groups in Davao City already announced to the public their planned transport strikeon Monday, September 19. and a People's Protest that will raise issues confronting various sectors will also be staged simultaneously with the transport strike.


A representatives from various sectoral groups announced they have decided to push through with the protest actions to air their grievances and press the government to address their demands.

Among their demands to be raised during the protest actions are scrapping of the Oil Deregulation Law, removal of the 12 percent Value-Added Tax, and rolling back of prices of oil and petroleum products.

10 bus companies operating in the city have assured the City Government they will deploy buses to ferry commuters stranded due to the strike.
