Meet the 2010 "Mutya ng Dabaw" five finalists!

The 2010 Mutya Ng Dabaw Coronation Night is set on March 15, 2010, Monday, 7 PM, at the CAP Auditorium.

This years Mutya ng Dabaw's top five finalist was chosen after the rigorous screening. The top five will be introduced one by one below:


Cherry Mae Maning

Age: 21
Course and Profession: Registered Nurse and Airline Cabin Crew
Community Project: Improvement of Shelter for Orphans

Who is the new Dabawenya? Define and provide the concept of a new Dabawenya.

A new Dabawenya represents the empowered women of our society, strong and able to take on risks and challenges of the changing world. She stands out among the rest with her great personality, completely packed with beauty and intelligence but still grounded with the core values of simplicity and humility. She can perform multiple tasks and fulfill different roles yet still end up accomplished and successful. Thus, she is a responsible, independent, confident and competent woman ready to empower other women as well.


Esperanza Odulio

Age: 18
Course and Profession: 2nd Yr, International Studies
Community Project: Educational Aid For Chosen School

A new Dabawenya is someone who is strong-willed and confident. She is dedicated to community building and development through helping others in her own way.


Janelle Tee

Age:19
Course and Profession: 3rd Yr, B.A. Masscom
Community Project: Environmental Justice

The newly enlightened Dabawenya is strong-willed, outspoken yet charming and confident yet humble. Her intelligence and skills are also dedicated to community building, goodwill and development.

Age: 22
Course and Profession: Industrial Engineer
Community Project: Education For The Out of School Youth

A new Dabawenya is someone who is strong-willed, independent and compassionate. She fights for what she believes in, is well equipped with wisdom and grace and most of all helps her family and community the best way she can.

Age: 22
Course and Profession: Customer Service Representative
Community Project: Protection For Garbage Collectors

A new Dabawenya is well educated and passionate about her well being as well as of the welfare of others. She knows how to lead a community or even a small group and listens to her people. She is composed, assertive and flexible.
