  6. Good day. I am a BS Biology graduate, Magna cum Laude (Batch 2008). I have been working as a Laboratory analyst in a government agency for almost 2 years now. But, I still have the aim to pursue a medical degree despite my financial incapacity. As I am scouting for institutions offering scholarships for deserving med-students, may I know if the Philippine Medical Scholarship Program is still good for the A.Y. 2010-2011? Also, will I still be eligible even though I do not have an ITR, nor my parents since they were separated from their jobs due to sickness? Please let me know. Thank you very much & more power.

GOD BLESS!!! -gellie

  15. Good evening. I am a graduating BS Biology student from University of the Philippines Los Banos. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to be a cum laude (which is required by some top-ranking med schools for scholarships). Anyway, is the scholarship available next year? I plan to have my NMAT on December, and I can apply to a med school only after I have received the results. I really wanted to be a DOCTOR, and I'll do whatever it takes to reach my dream profession. Thank you very much. May God prosper you more!

  23. Good evening po MR. Admin, I already read all the comments here, same issue po ata kami nung isang gurl. I'm working po kasi now, I graduated last 2009, Bs Biology po ang course ko, I'd like to study po sana sa PLM, nagpaevaluate n po ako ng grades and They sed no more units n kelangan pang Itake, Nagwork muna po ko para makaipon kaya lang po unsuccessful po, kasi I sustented my mother and father po e.. wla n po silang work, we have a small sari-sari store to supplement our daily needs plus ung income ko po I surrender to them, maliit lang po kinikita ko kaya ndi ako nakaipon, kung iisipin ang hirap talaga unless magabroad pero po no oppurtunity comes para sakin e... Im dreaming po to become a doctor since birth, thats why I took up a pre med course of biology,... atat n ko magmed dahil ndi n rin po ako bumabata, I want to serve the filipino people po at an early age sana, kaya lang po, during my college days, may mga 3.0 akong grade, wala aman pong bagsak, ung GWA ko po pasado aman sa PLM, NMAT nalang po itake ko by december.. naghahanap po ako ng scholarship para sa pagaaral ko, as what I've read.. wala naman po kayogn required n grade pero ok lang po ba na may 3.0 sa TOR?? nakakiya man, pero totoo..ndi din po ako sa UP graduate, pero sa state universities po ako grad...ask ko lang po sana kung qualified p ko if ever makakuha ako ng NMAT n required nyo po..

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ibig sabihin po,... after kung mag first year med kelangan akong magrender ng 2 years sa govt? tapos 2nd year, another 2 years ulit?? so on....o total of 2 years n po ung pagwork sa govt. para maavail ung skolarship?? e kung magwork po kaya habang nagaaral??

  28. @ivan andrew: yep CEM can issue another nmat result score sheet for u. just visit their website for office address infos. much better if u go there personally rather than email them.

  30. is there a grade requirement to be able to qualify for the scholarship?

    ReplyDelete
  31. i just want to ask if pinoy md still accepts applicants for 2011….can aspiring med students just apply at DOH or at its co-sponsors and they will be the ones to screen and recommend the qualified applicants to the med schools they wish to enroll in,.. anyway these departments and organizations are the ones funding the applicants and not the school itself..it is up then for the student to do his/her best so as that he/she can meet the minimum requirements of the school…atleast he/she already has the assurance of the scholarship…other med schools would tend to take the students for granted, they will collect money from the entrance and any kind of exams they administer then they just drop the applicant if his/her financial background is not good..when can the poor aspiring med student get a chance to study medicine with the aid of a scholarship when the school is very subjective..its priority is different from what the pinoy md program prioritizes..they just don’t go together..too bad…
i want to know if the program is still going to pursue..i’m very much interested..i wish to apply for next year,2011…thank you very much.

  32. Try and asked the DOH for more information!

  58. Unfortunately guys, this scholarship is ancient. This is what they call the PINOYMD scholarship. Its a scholarship given by PCSO. to make the long story short, because of the anomalies of the government, they are stopping the program this year. yup. this year. i'm part of the 3rd batch of the scholars of pinoymd, and trust me, the package sounds enticing, pero hindi tlaaga samin nabibigay lahat yan. Our allowances are alwys delayed and most of the time, me and the others are making promisory notes just so we can take exams sa school since hindi pa nakakabayad ang PCSO sa school namin. so there.
