Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) indications!

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD or TMD), or TMJ syndrome, is an umbrella term covering acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, which connects the mandible to the skull. The disorder and resultant dysfunction can result in significant pain and impairment.

TMD is sometimes caused by Anatomic factors (malocclusion) like:

  • Loss of one or more teeth

  • Loss of vertical dimension

  • Excessive tooth wear

  • An underdeveloped upper jaw

On the dentist point of view Dental Distress Syndrome is an indication of a TMD.

People with DDS typically may complain of one or many of the following:

  • Pain or tenderness of the TMJ area

  • Difficulty in opening or closing

  • Headaches

  • Dizziness

  • Hearing loss

  • Depression

  • Worrying

  • Nervousness

  • Forgetfulness

  • Insomnia

  • Sinusitis

  • Fatigue

  • Indigestion

  • Constipation

  • Dermatitis

  • Allergies

  • Frequent urination

  • Kidney and bladder complications

  • Cold hands and feet

  • Back and leg aches

  • Numbness

  • Body posture problems

DS is a dominant stressor of the body. Elimination of DDS can reverse many of these chronic conditions if caused by faulty proprioception. Faulty proprioception also affects the 5 th cranial nerve, which serves the lower jaw. This nerve has both motor and sensory functions and affects over 50% of the body’s functions.

The arteries and the veins that bring blood to and from your brain flow directly through 68 pairs of “dental muscles”. When the muscles become tight due to DDS, blood flow to the brain and the pituitary gland is reduced.

If you have any of those symptoms it is about time to visit your Dentist who has a knowledge of TMJ Disorder, here in Davao City you can go and visit Ortiz Dental Clinic at 101 Maa Road cor South St. DBP Village, Matina just across NCCC Mall. They specialize in TMD problems.

Madayaw Davao! Dinhi malipayon ang kinabuhi
Dinhi ang akong gugma, dili mahanaw
Dinhi ang akong garbo, wala'y katapusan

Mao nga pagmata na! Ipakita sa kalibutan
Kini ang tinood! Ang atong garbo!
Mao nga dali na! Itodo ng kalipay
Awiton ta ang gugma sa akong dakbayan!

Madayaw Davao! Gusto namo ang labaw sa tanan
Madayaw Davao! Lahi ra gyud kung magka uban uban
Dinhi ang akong gugma, dili mahanaw
Dinhi ang akong garbo, wala'y katapusan

Dili ko garboso, gusto lang nako isangyaw
Lain lain man ang atong mga panglantaw
Usa lang ang makahatag pahiyom
Biisan asa man makaabot nga dapit
Kini gihapon ang gina binabalik-balikan

New NBI Cearance processing with Bometrics Clearing System takes half a day in Davao City!

GETTING a clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Davao City will take at least a half day, as the regional office is not spared from its information network cutoff.

But everything is getting better with the set-up of their new biometric clearing system.

With the new system and a new service provider everybody who needs clearance will have to apply for a new one. Clearance renewal processing is not available with the new system.

In Davao City getting a new NBI Clearance would normally take half a day that is if you are ther to fall in line as early as possible. Some have to go back the next day to get their NBI Clearance.
